Growing up on the farm in the 70's, my dad had a small workshop converted from an old wooden grainery. Dad did all of his woodworking in there since he was a finishing carpenter in the winter. He also did most of his welding and equipment repair in the same building. Since there wasn't much space he needed to organize his tools well. With his carpentry skills he built himself a workbench to house all of his tools and decked it out with a metal top. When dad moved off the farm my brother took over, built a bigger shop and moved the workbench to its new home where he uses it all the time. It functions just as it did 50+ years ago.

     When I got married, dad helped me build a workbench for my first home, then for my second home, then for my shop, then for my son. Now over 50 years after that first workbench, I am building custom workbenches and storage solutions for garage and shop in the Lethbridge area using dad's same time-tested design.
